Sunday, June 2, 2024: Our 98th Annual Concert

Our 98th Annual Concert celebrated the life and music of Mordechai Gebirtig. It was held at the Jewish Community High School of the Bay, in San Francisco (map).

"A Ray of Sunshine - The Music and Life of Mordechai Gebirtig."  Gebirtig was a labor poet and most beloved composer of Yiddish folk songs based in Krakow, Poland during the period between the two World Wars. His timeless songs reflect the life, joys, and struggles of Eastern European Jewry.

The Chorus presented a variety of Gebirtig selections under the direction of Lisa Sargent and pianist Inara Morgenstern and will be accompanied by a multimedia narration of Gebirtig's life.
